I am a Certified Professional Photographer with through the Professional Photographic Certification Commission. I love to shoot fashion, glamour and promotional photography! I love sculpting with light and being creative with perspective and angle. I do work extensively in photoshop but I use it in moderation. I work by the philosophy of "get it right in the camera" and then "touch it".
I LOVE color. I think the right combinations of colors in an image can really make or break an image. I have recently started using color pallets with all of my clients to help establish clothing, accessories and make-up. It helps! You will see color and lighting used creatively in all of my portraits.
I work very deliberately and I like to move quick. I like to work in 20 to 30 minute sets. So in a 3 hour session we can get 5 or 6 different wardrobes and locations. Sometimes this might change... depending on the assignment. The idea is to add depth your the portfolio.
Planning is important to pulling off a good session and produce the desired results. There is a lot of communication between me and the model(s) before, during and after the session. I do email, phone and Facebook equally well but I like to stay in touch by email and Facebook.
I like shooting for myself. This is when I feel most comfortable to make artistic decisions in order to convey a mood or a thought. My favorite types of clients are those who came to me because they like my work... not because they found me in the Yellow Pages.
The reason I am here is to make great connections with others in this industry. I want to be inspired by other photographers and models. I would also like to help promote clients I have worked with in the past (and in the future). I'm always interested in new ideas and working with new people.
Feel free to contact me or add me as a friend. Networking is great for success!
I am looking to move to the Chicago area (I was originally going to Troy MI). I'd love to network with other photogs, models, and video people in the Chicago area (I network with everyone else to!). I am always looking for people to work on future video projects. I love shooting artistic model photography but I also shoot video for commercials (like Famous Footwear, Staufers, Townhouse, etc...). There is a whole movement for large corporations to look toward small video producers to produce "organic" video commercials because it doesn't cost as much, the quality is great, and it is a tad more realistic than a "major production". So if you have some acting talent and would like to try your chops at video... let me know.
My new website is LIVE!!!! It has been a long time coming and a lot of work leading up this point but the dreaded new website is done. I 'll always have to update it and keep it fresh.
